I grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico in a lively household with nine siblings where creating intricate paper dolls with my sisters was a favorite pastime. My parents encouraged my growing passion for drawing and painting, and by age 13 I was awakened to the downtown art gallery scene. My fire was fueled and fate was sealed - or so it seemed.

I headed for college in Albuquerque to pursue my art and was dismayed to find the only career choice offered on campus was drafting! Upon graduation I dutifully worked for an electrical engineering firm, which years later I realized taught me the value and discipline of careful observation.

In 1989 I moved to San Antonio, Texas and enrolled in Coppini Academy of Fine Arts to pursue my life long dream. At age forty the strong connection between God, my art, life and nature, led me to my true calling and today I'm a full time easel painter.

I remain a lifelong student of drawing and painting by diligent practice of fundamentals, careful observation, comparison and by using pure vibrant color to capture (what clients say is) the inner character of my subjects. I currently work on personal and commission art, and as a gallery owner I'm partnered with seven other artists.

I also work in oil, watercolor and graphite/charcoal to portray figurative, portrait, wildlife, landscape and still-life work from my San Antonio studio.
